His income is all cash

I am newly married - one year ago. Just found out three days ago that he was on heavy duty drugs (oxycontin) for the past year - I thought something was strange, but he denied denied denied. Now he is in detox. We just bought a home two years ago - mortgage is in my name but he was the main source of income. His business is a cash business, his taxes showed he made $11,000.00 last year when in truth he made about $50k. I was told to get a divorce attorney, but how can I claim anything if he doesn't show income?

Help!!

Go see an attorney. They will be able to help you in proving he has more income than $11k. It would seem that if he is the main source of income for you, and you don't make enough to cover all the bills yourself, that it will fairly easily be proven that he earns more than what his taxes show.

Just go see an attorney, and you will most likely walk out of that office feeling assured and relieved.

You do need to consult with an attorney.... however, when I divorced my EX, he was self employed and his bottom line was always very small.
