Hmmm, what to do....dilemma of the day

So today I got two calls for interviews (both in Virginia where we live now). One is set for April 29 and the other May 2nd. I haven't received any calls about the applications I put in down in NC. I am suppose to be out of my apartment by May 15th...so I was just packing up and going to NC and going to try to live off cs/alimony until I found a job. Now it looks like the jobs are here in VA.

Just when I think I'm done with VA and make a decision (I reserved a UHAUL for May 12th) something comes up here that makes me think I need to stay here.

I'm coming down to the wire on having to move out of here and I don't have a job and really need a good one that has decent hours because my daughter (2.5) will have to spend her day in daycare. Traffic is horrible in this area (30 miles south of Washington, DC), so I applied to jobs here on base or south of the base.

It's a big hurry up and wait game! I sure wish I had family here to stay with while I was waiting to hear back from these people about the jobs. I don't want to get in the UHAUL and head to NC and two days later hear I've been hired.

I don't have any answers for you. I did want to warn you to check with UHaul. They don't actually reserve your truck for the store closest to you. They expect you to go and pick it up whereever it lands. We had to drive for 1.5 hours to get our UHaul. When we finally did get it, it had a problem and had to go into the shop for a couple of hours. By the time we got it back, we were a full day behind on our move. We ended up staying in a hotel which should have been unnecessary on a 500 mile move. In the end, UHaul did pay for the hotel, but it could not make up our time that we lost. So, you might want to check with the store, not the 800 number, about how this works for you. Good luck!

Thanks for the info about the Uhaul...I will check on it. So since I posted I have kind of decided to go to one of the interviews (the one in a good location for my dd and I). If I don't get this job I'm moving. So now I just have to wait and see how it goes.
