How did everyone come up with the $

My H and I seperated 7 months ago and I am now just starting to see a lawyer. I have been dragging my feet trying to get him to come around. Well, it is over and I guess it is time for me to do what I have to. I went to see the atty and she is requesting $2500 retainer, which isn't a lot, but I have no money. My H was the one with the good paychecks, mine paid the babysitter and groceries. He has kept our home, but everything is in my name so I can't get a loan and I have no family to borrow from. Does anyone have any suggestions. BTW, he doesn't pay child support so she wants to go after that also, but I have to give her the $ first.
Thanks.

Hugs to you... Im sorry you have to endure the cost of the whole thing.
In my case my mother gave me the money. If she hadn't of gotten her inheritance from my grandfather's death, I would still be married.
I guess I would say maybe saving money for awhile is an option?
Hugs to you,
Angelena
Legal Aid is an option. Or, if your husband was mainly the breadwinner, you could find an attorney that will wait until the final hearing and let him pay your attorney bills. Of course you would have to show that you have the "need" and he has the "means" to pay.
