I'm going through stuff getting ready for the big move and I did it... I put my wedding dress into a donate bag. I considered saving it for my daughter, but the chances that she'd like it and want to wear it are so slim, plus some of the beading turned black (an omen?- lol) and it would be quite an undertaking to fix. It felt so good to do that!!!

It was difficult to toss mine, too.... I made it myself!

Wow! I have been going back and forth trying to decide what to do with mine. I have already decided to keep the wedding album, pictures and videos from the marriage. My own mother destroyed things like that years ago and I wish she hadn't. I want my son to feel good about both Mom and Dad and to have the 'history' of how he came to be. I am not sure that he needs a wedding dress, though! : ) And I am not sure that my nieces (they are actually my ex's nieces, but they still call me 'Aunt Abby') would want it.

I did tear up and burn the wedding picture I used to have on my desk at work - did that a few weekends ago. I had another copy of it in the wedding album, so I figured, what the heck. And I felt pretty darn good after I destroyed that picture. I think it was a bit celebratory in that I was feeling so relieved that day that the ex is - for the most part - out of my life!
