Does this sound fair? We are in divorce mediation..getting to the meat of things..H wants a separation instead. Says with our latest calcualtions. My imputed income will be about 40K.
40K?? I am make $5200 right now..I figured 20K??? I did earn 50K before my kids..I have been out of the full time workforce for over 10yrs..This has to be a scare tactic..
Any thoughts? I have two school age kids.

Have your boss write a letter with what your salary will be once you start working more hours. That will certainly help. If the mediator proposes your imputed income is $40k, you can fight that in court. You don't have to lay down and accept it that's for sure.

Sorry you've got to deal with this. Just thinking - is your current job in the field you're trained in and paying a comparable salary to what you could make elsewhere for the same position. If it is, then that strengthens your argument. If it's not, I could see your ex pushing the argument that you're making less than your potential.
