Input Wanted.... Again!

My friend (yes, really!!!) has two boys, 8 and 7. She's divorced and her XH has been dating a woman for about 6 months now, but they aren't living together. The 7 year old told her that the girlfriend reads him stories in a T-shirt and underwear.

Is this weird to anyone? Or are she and I nuts?

Doh! I'm not saying anything because I used to be the Queen of Faux Pas.

Yeah, I think there are good ones out there, in spite of the bad ones we left in our pasts...... And you know, just because a door is closed, doesn't mean it's locked! Look at Rebecca and her handsome Greek!!!

Or, as is said in The Sound of Music, "When God closes a door, SOMEWHERE he opens a window!"

*snicker* Yes, I think they're all idiots. Well, most of them!

Perhaps it's a mid-life crisis thing? Perhaps they get tired of being good for so long and just cut loose? Who knows. I'd just like it if my idiot XH put the girls first most of the time instead of for the 3 minutes a week that he does.

And I've encountered more men who "trade down" like this, rather than "trading up" which is what men usually do during midlife!!!

And my married-but-separated neighbor sent me a text message just before lunch today "Hello".... I ignored him.

If you tell me that he wears his shirts open halfway down his chest with a gold chain, I'll spit all over my keyboard!

And I'm on your side with the beef..... If your schedule doesn't allow you to PARENT, then don't even try..... It's one of my pet peeves with XH; he's got the girls 5 days every OTHER week and he needs to take the wife out to dinner one of those 5 nights?????

Funny that there are only a few of us in this conversation about the GF in her undies. Perhaps we ARE the weird ones? Though no one has piped up with "Aw, let it go, it's harmless!"

You mean tired of being "adequate". Well exuse us, maybe were tired of working our butts off to raise decent children that feel cherished, keep a nice house to entertain in, bringing in a paycheck.... Sorry, I got carried away. :) I don't think they're tired of being good. I think they're bored and somehow in their desire to break out of the boredom they sacrifice everything- wife, kids, home etc...

Pathetic.

*L* I like that! But I really meant "good." You know.... a good boy, not giving in to temptation, doing what society expects, etc.

I didn't realize until after the divorce that my XH was only an adequate father! I thought he was great, but he had ME backing him up!!

Isn't that so true. They're "great fathers" while were handholding them through the process. When left to their own devices.... Not so much.

My stbx was the cub scout leader, Sunday school teacher, coach etc for the last 16 years. Now he's found a girlfriend, wants a divorce and is moving 3000 miles away from his children to live with her. The youngest is 4. WTH? I guess the "super dad" act was just that. An act.
