Insurance and Preschool Question

I was laid off Thursday. My COBRA's way too expensive to keep. It's less than 1/2 the price to get insurance on my own. So I asked STBX to put the kids on his insurance. He said no. Do you know if I could get him to pay for their health insurance?

I also asked STBX about reducing our DS's preschool from 5 days a week to 3 days a week. He'd be off on Tuesdays & Thursdays, which happen to be days he'd spend w/me. STBX said No. We currently split preschool cost 50-50. I asked him if he'd pay for the whole thing, and he also said no. Do you know if I could reduce DS's days to 3 days a week?

Thanks for the advice!

Nope... still not divorced. STBX (can't think of a better name, since he's taking his sweet time) isn't very cooperative and doesn't want to negotiate, and the judge keeps continuing (i.e., prolonging) our case. We have a court date in November.

We don't have anything that states who pays for insurance. STBX got child support reduced to $150/month for both kids last June, because he made it look like he's not making that much money right now.

I spoke w/my attorney on Tuesday, and he said he wanted to think before advising me to reduce preschool to 3 days a week, because the judge is unpredictable and may side w/STBX.

Thanks for your input. I think I just needed to vent the other day.
