I think joint custody could work only if you both live very close by so your DS's school schedule can be maintained.

thank you for your response.

i know that if we asked our DS (14, will be 15 in Oct) what he would want for living arrangements, he would want to stay with me 100% of the time.

My div. papers didn't specify anything about visitation since we knew we could work that out w/o arguing.

We let the kids choose. My 12 year old dd (our youngest) chose to spend a week with each of us (she has a few friends that do the same). So far, it has been 6 months, it has worked really well. We live about a 5/10 min drive from eachother, & even when dh has her I look after her after school until he finishes work (I work at her school). She has some clothes at each house but carries her school uniform & soccer gear back & forth.

Even though you seem to have worked out an arrangement, I'll give you the quickie definition anyway (warning:

is it possible to agree that neither of us pay CS?

It's possible for there to be no c.s., but I thought you had decided that you would have primary custody and your son would only visit w/ his father EOW.

this is where i get confused...i thought if there was joint custody, no CS was required to be paid.
