Hey Julie.... is that Pre-K lottery tomorrow?..... Just thinking about ya.
Thanks Karen... It is tomorrow... and I'm a touch nervous about it, even though I know it will turn out just the way it is supposed to. He has a spot in the private pre-K, it is just more $$$ and considering LA isn't enforcing a CS order, I don't look to get help from xh, so I'm hoping he gets chosen... but either way... we're cool...
We just got word that Joey will be "graduating" from his school/daycare on May 12th... he will be responsible for saying the Pledge of Allegiance beforehand... pretty high honor in my mind...
And I will check my email from work tomorrow... did you sent it to my gmail account?
Keep your fingers crossed!
Julie
My fingers are crossed... and yes, the gmail account..... it's really, really exciting :-)

First of all.... Joey got into the pre-K program at the elementary school down the street... I'm beyond excited about it... yeah... :)
Um... now the not so good news... I have had such a rough week, that I totally forgot about my email... so I am going to try to remember to check it tomorrow... with my Grandpa in the hospital and maybe having surgery to remove a kidney and then deciding no... my doggie being sick... regenerative idiopathic anemia... and on tons of meds... and school registration, I've had a tough time keeping things straight this week... someone had to remind me that today is Thursday... because I can't keep it straight this week... but the good news is that if today really is Thursday, tomorrow is Friday and Saturday isn't far behind!
I am very excited by the sound of this thread though... I just think it would be super fun if it's what I think it is!
*hugs*

You're pretty intuitive!! (and it's not a big rush.... yet!.... so checking your e mail won't have to be a "top" priority ;-)

Hi Karen... and Deb too...
I did check my email this morning, before I got called into a meeting... today was definitely one of THOSE days at work....
I can't remember what I told you earlier about work, but we're down four people who do my job this week... two who have recently left the company and two on vacation...
add to that the fact that one of the managers (though not my manager) is no longer with the company (as of today) because her position was eliminated, so we had to have a meeting to discuss that...
and then they decided today was a good day to announce how the department was being re-organized and have a meeting about that (I am happy with the path they've laid out for me, I'm still reporting to the same boss that I have been for the past year that I work very well with, etc...all in all for me it is a good thing)...
we had training for a big process that we start doing on oh, MONDAY... two hours of wait till the last minute training...
and then we had to meet with our managers to discuss merit increases, which will be on our next paychecks... so yeah for that... it isn't all that much, but my manager said it was the biggest increase percentage he had seen within the department, so... I'm letting that say it all...
And then there's one more thing... my dept has recently become quite anal about following rules to the letter... so if I need to get off early to go to say, Joey's graduation in a couple of weeks, I was advised on Wed when I asked about it that I would have to take my vacation time... mind you, they have a policy of letting you "make up time" (even though we're salary) if you have a doctor's appt and take two hours or less, which is what I would need to take to attend Joey's graduation... but since it wasn't a medical appt for ~me~ and since I'm so dang honest... rated exemplary on integrity and accountability on my yearly review from last year... I could have told a story about a doctor's appt, but no, I had to tell the truth... so I hear, sorry, you'll have to take vacation for that... so I accepted what he said (wasn't happy, but dropped it...) and today he pulled me into his office and told me that I couldn't tell a soul, but he had talked to our director and they've agreed to let me make the time up... but, shhhhh... its a secret!
Since I can't tell anyone, I'm sharing my excitement with you guys... It was completely crazy today at work, but a lot of good things happened... me checking my email and being able to fully read the email and even better than that, respond more than whatever I wound up sending though, just wasn't in the cards... Anyway, I'll try better early next week... I'm so excited about the idea and think it would be great fun!
*hugs*
Julie
