Hey girl!

Where are you now and where are you moving? If I'm in the area I would be glad to help--although I don't know about the swooping! LOL!

I am also getting ready to move (from Los Angeles to Columbus) and I'm using ABF U-Pack, they have the best prices by far but you have to pack it all yourself. You might want to check out http://www.movingscam.com/ It's a website that helps you to avoid moving scams and gives advice, tips and links on companies and supplies. It also has a comment and message board so you can read about how satisified other people were with the company they chose.

Good for you for keeping busy and not letting the STBX drag you down with his antics. Enjoy your dinner out tonight-you deserve it! xoxox

You could try your local college, there are often guys available for a day of labor. Or maybe you could try a Boy Scout troop or church group. They may be willing to move you in exchange for a donation to their group.

Yes, of course we would swoop down on you and move you. I've done it twice in the past year!

I packed my own stuff and then hired laborers from emove.com to help me load a truck and unload it. The truck cost $100 for the day and the labor was $300 or so. I used strong college students and they were really great. There might be a chapter in your area. Some churches do have help for single moms though so it wouldn't hurt to call!

Good luck!

I am amazed at the strength you are showing! Good for you. You've made plans and you are moving forward.

I think the other women had really great suggestions about moving...I never would have thought of them.

Crystal,

I made the mistake of letting my STBX help me move. At that time we were just seperating, I had no idea he was having an affair and the second day of moving he completely stood me up and I had to move by myself. So my advice if you can is to not have him help you. However, I was only moving 30 minutes away, and considering you are moving out of state, if you can save a large sum of money, have him help you.

I am proud of you for keeping busy. That is a HUGE was I am recovering. Sometimes I made TOO many plans and ran myself ragged. I literally called everyoen I knew and filled up my day planner. You can do the same with plans with your daughter, find free mueseums, anything to do. Make every day an adventure for the two of you.
