I guess I am confused.

I got sole physical custody of my kids. My x has rights to medical and school records, but that's it. He also gets reasonable visitation. ( because I am the CP I get to say when and where, but I always talk about it with X and we agreed every other weekend )

I didn't have to have any noted abuse or anything like that to get it. My X is a weekend father. THe visitation history is not great, but not enough to be a problem in court. None of that was brought up.

I guess I am thinking that maybe your state is a little more difficult than mine.

Hugs to you sweetie, good luck.

It is confusing... there are so many terms that have different, but similar, meanings.... and I do really think that his not doing the things that the court has already ordered him to do will come back to bite him.

Yes, i was thinking that after the GAL meets w/ dd, i may write up a very breif few points, JUST the most important, b/c she had a lot of stuff to muddle through - the points that really would matter - such as that, that he didnt even do the basic court orders at 1st, to be able to see her.

Good idea... remember, though... stick to the facts only; no emotion.

I guess it must vary a lot state to state b/c in my state, I am under the impression that sole physical custody is the norm and the parents have joint legal (basically shared decision making for schooling, medical, religion).
