Lanianela,

Hi. Please do not subject yourself to domestic violence! Being physically assaulted is just that. You need to get away and protect your children from further outbursts. Call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) right away.

Your lawyer is correct when he suggests a TRO. It doesn't matter WHY your mate hit you - it matters that she did! So get away! The people at NDV can help.

Please keep us posted.

Hey there... what did you decvide to do?

I strongly feel that.... especially since she did this in front of HER child... you have a responsibility to take action as if you have no other reason to believe that she was anything other than completely serious.

I JUST went though this similar event a week ago Sunday. I HAD to have my wife arrested and I filed a protective injunction on behalf of myself and children. This is just the beginning of me picking up the pieces and getting OUR lives back. My wife needs help and I have given 150% in efforts to be by her side. I have accepted the fact that I can't change ANYONE unless they take it upon themselves to work on the issues. I NOW am out for myself and my babies(5,8).

My days are broken down into 30 second pieces as far as my emotions go. I was in bed last week feeling as if I was COMPLETELY paralyzed. I then said 'Okay....get a bowl of cereal'........laid back down...'okay, take a shower'....etc. This went on for a few days and I still feel moments of GREAT despair and/or loss. I keep myself focused upon my kids and myself as well. My appetite has plummeted so I went to GNC and loaded up on protein supplements to keep me fueled. The struggle is day to day and at times the next day even sends me back two steps. I CAN say that today I am better than I was last Monday but I keep my fingers crossed lol.

Picking backdrop colors for school pictures? Just how many snacks go in the lunches? Okay..what time do I get in the line for pickup at school? I am 'learning on the fly' but doing my best and the kids are hanging tough with me!
