I thought that it might be nice to have a little spot to say whatever's on your mind about last week's devistating events that have impacted the lives of so many.

I keep watching the news specials on what's happening down there.

I guess I cannot fathom for one second why something like this happens here. Why weren't we prepared? How will we fix this? Why are we fighting in other countries when one small section of our country is in complete devistation.

It makes me sad to know that people are dying.... not because of the water, but because of the shelters and not having enough food or water to go around. The hurricane did not kill as many as it could have, we can be thankful for that, but, where is the aid? Where is the food and water? How are the babies eating? How is everyone not sick from not showering, death everywhere and not eating?

I have so many questions and so many thoughts on this. I just wish I could change it all. I wish I lived close enough to offer my home to people who need it. I wish I had a million dollars to buy food and water and take it down there myself. I wish I could fix it.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in those areas and with the people who did help the families that needed it. People's lives are gone. Not only in material things but also in physical being. Those people officially lost everything.

I just wish I could fix it.

A friend of mine's father drives a tour bus in Missouri. He offered his bus and his time to drive to New Orleans and pick up people and take them to Houston. It's people like that that make me proud to be apart of this country.

Hugs to all affected.
