Give us the basics, or as much as you feel comfortable giving... name, location, children, etc...

Tell us a little bit about yourself... what part of the process you're in...

And... one quote or song that has really spoken to you through this process...

*hugs*

Hi, I'm Belinda and it's been nearly 9 months since he filed. I live in Colorado. We have not gotten very far with our attorneys and are starting mediation and hopefully this will help move things along. I'm hoping the divorce will be final within the next month or two, but we are still far apart on a lot of issues.

I moved out of my basement (which he so kindly threw my things into) and into my own apartment September 1st. I have tried to move on with my life and have been keeping myself busy, including having taken up some painting classes lately. I have a 16 year old boy and a 12 year old girl.

One song that comes to mind is the Breakaway song by Kelly Clarkson. I remember that song well over a year ago when I knew I wanted out back then.

The STBX is on Match.com now and I'm praying that he soon finds the "love of his life" so he'll leave me alone!

Good luck to you all! :)

I'm Amy, I'm 23, and I'm in the beginning of my divorce.
I've been married for about 16 months. When we had been married for 2 months, he committed a felony and multiple misdemeanors in one night. I should have left him then, gotten an annulment, but I stayed, hoping he would not be convicted.
Right now, I'm in college. I'm about to graduate in June with my AS in business, and will be getting a double bachelors in May 2008 in business & accounting.
I'm also planning a major life change - I'll be moving from VT to NC when I graduate. I need to get away from this area. And, I'm applying for a job with the Army as a civilian accountant.
Wow, can't believe how carried away i've gotten. LOL

Late 20's, no kids, living in separate states, neither one of us has made any effort to file.

I've been trying to get by on this quote: "Tough times don't last, tough people do."
Too many songs come to mind.

Hi Karen,

I live in the southeast Denver area. Where you're going is just beautiful. Make sure you bring light jackets because it can be quite cool up there in June and we tend to have more rainshowers in June. The evenings will get cool, so make sure you have plenty of long pants and long sleeved shirts too. I don't know that I can recommend any "must see" areas up there -- it's all beautiful. I'm not sure but Breckenridge may have a gondola that you can take to go to the top of the mountain. I know that Vail has one and it's not too terribly far from Breckenridge. Also, Breckenridge is not too far from Dillon Lake, which is a real pretty area. If you rent or bring bikes there are plenty of bike paths throughout the area. There are also outlet stores in the Dillon/Frisco area. it's been a very long time since I've been to Breckenridge, so I'm sorry I can't help you out in that area. Let me know if you have anymore questions ok? I'll be out of town for a week and will return next week and will be glad to provide any more info you need. Belinda

I've been to Nashville a couple times on my way to Knoxville and even saw Little Richard in the airport (he ain't so little anymore!). Anyway, I'm familiar with your climate and weather in the summertime and you definitely will notice a huge difference here. It is dry in Colorado and the evenings really cool off, which is I why I recommend bringing light jackets and long sleeves/pants for the mornings and evenings. Breckenridge is in the mountains at a higher elevation than Denver. You'll probably notice that the air is thinner and your skin and nose will dry out more, so bring chapstick and lotions too. I think you'll really enjoy Colorado. I can't wait to hear about your trip, and if I hear of anything exciting going on up there in the month of June, I'll be sure to share with you!

Oh, my dad has already gotten a catalog from the Chamber of Commerce (and every year when we don't drive to our destination and I agree to rent a van with my parents, I end up kicking myself because my dad, "Mr. Planner" wants every step mapped out! LOL!... I'm like, relax... it's vacation)

I think there is a jazz festival the week we'll be there... mostly, I'm up for relaxing :-) but I do want to see the area's character, too.

Thanks for the chapstick and lotion tidbit!
