Oh....... here's a new vice for you all.
Go to the grocery store (or target!!) and buy....
Those pretzels that are about an inch square
The HUGS brand of hershey's kisses
M&Ms of any kind (I personally love the dark chocolate ones for this)
Go home and heat your oven to 300.
Unwrap all the kisses (there are between 72 and 76 per bag
Put a layer of wax paper on a cookie sheet
Lay out the pretzels in a single layer.
Top each pretzel with a kiss
Put the sheet in the warm oven for about 3 minutes
Take it out and bang it on the counter a few times so that the kisses sink into the nooks and crannies of the pretzel.
Top each one with an M&M
Refrigerate for a couple hours.
EAT!

yummmmmmMMMMMMM.
Too funny... "bang it on the counter a few times" (Psssssttt... that would alert my kids that something was happening in the kitchen that they needed to come and check out--and then I'd have to share)

Ah, if you've ever eaten these, you know that the reward of the finished product far outweighs any satisfaction gained by eating even one without it being melted on a pretzel!
And you can lightly tap it...... on a towel on the counter..... so that it doesn't make noise!

I'll have to try it.... so you recommend using HUGS vs... regular kisses or the special dark ones?... I love the special dark ones.
(But maybe banging them on the counter adds to the excitement of it all, too.

The HUGS have a milk chocolate core wrapped in white chocolate drizzled in milk chocolate. Adding the dark M&M gives it that punch of dark (which I, too, love). And they look so pretty with the white and brown stripes! If you DO try other kisses, put them in the oven at different times. The dark chocolate ones melt slower than the HUGS.
Rosie and I made 5 bags worth for her dance last month. We used white, pink, and red M&Ms and they looked beautiful! It was over 350 of them and I only took home about 30.
