Making decisions out of fear?

Help. I need objective feedback.

I have this great opportunity - it means moving about an hour from where I live now. It would put my kids in a terrific school and is a great job opportunity for me. But I'm not sure I should do this.

In the past year, we've moved twice (once for my former husband's job and once back after he left). This would mean another move. It would be closer to my family but it is an area where I don't know anyone. So it would mean building a support system for myself and my kids. I am wondering if my reluctance comes from fear - do I really have the strength to make this change work and to find new friends? What if I am making another big mistake (the move for his job was a disaster)? Are my kids (who have been fine so far) really up to another change? Do I have the strength to lead them through this (I believe how well they do is largely impacted by my own ability to be strong for them)

On the flip side - what if I pass up this great opportunity and realize a year or two years from now that I did it because I was too scared? I've never let fear rule me. I've always taken the big risks and made the best of situations.

AAAAAH - opinions?

All this is compounded that for the first time in 13 years, I am making a huge decision alone - not as a partnership. The weight of that is pretty big.

You should go for it. A great job opportunity does not come up often and as long as it takes you to an area where the schools are good and closer to your family, I can't see how any of that can be bad.

You are a strong woman, do not let fear of the unknown hold you back. Look at this with a positive attitude, this is a true new beginning.

I was married for 26 yrs, after we separated I was very lost. I totally understand your apprehensions.

Pray on it and whatever your gut tells you to do, follow through, for only you know your true situation.

Good Luck!
