making more money???

Does anyone have any suggestions on making more money? I need to come up with several thousand dollars to pay for my attorney to fight a custody battle. I am working parttime right now and looking for a full time job, however, this still only means me making about $40,000 a year. My ex makes ALOT of money, and has no problem paying high legal fees. Me, well it just takes away from the kids and our home life. But I will do it, in order to protect them and pay for the fight ahead of me. I just don't know how to do it. I don't have family that can help watch the kids, they are only 11 and 6. Paying for daycare and summer care is already putting a huge financial strain on me, and my ex refuses to help pay for childcare expenses, even though our order says he is supposed to. I can't get another job at night because of the kids. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

well, i don't know what it is that you DO - but is there something you could do at home? like some kind of computer work maybe? tutoring?

are there ways that you could lower your cost of living - move to a less expensive home, find ways to cut down on your electric bills and so on?

Where in the country do you work? My company is ALWAYS hiring fulltime and it's usually much more than 40k a year especially for branch managers. Depending on the part of the country you are in you, like up here you are required to have at least a bachelors degree, but I know in other parts of the country you don't need one. It is a a fulltime postion 45 hours a week but they do have flextime especially for parents. They like to balance work/home life. My company is a national company so even if you don't live in my part of the country its not a necessity I can direct you in the right direction and you can use my name as an employee referral, they like employee referrals better than just someone off the street. Good pay, benefits and discount programs.

Oh My God, that would be wonderful! I live in Ohio, Cleveland/Akron/Canton area. I do have a bachelor's degree, as well as 15 years work experenience in administrative support. I opened my own restaurant a few years ago, but was forced to close when the divorce was underway. I am looking at moving to a less expensive home, that would save me some money. Other than that, my expenses are necessaties, gas, electric, water/sewer, trash, groceries, car payment and insurance. We never go out to eat and only buy the kids what the must have. And yet, I still can't seem to make ends meet. Anyways, any leads on a potential full time job would be so greatly appreciated, thank you!

I wish I had some good advice for you! Is there any possibility of you taking out a loan against your retirement plan? That's what I had to do in order to pay for my divorce and have the funds to move out. There was no other ay for me to come up with several thousand dollars. I've had people suggest selling things on ebay, but unfortunately, I don't have anything of monetary value ;)
