marriage for tax reasons?

I have been divorced for 8 yrs (physical, emotional abuse) and was married for 12 yrs. REcovered so much emotionally. Now, I am somewhat involved in a long distance relationship with a wonderful man and I certainly have ?. I happen to know he bought a house in Atlanta recently after he moved there for a new job, he invited me up for a visit twice and I happended to see a wage/earnings statement and the withholding said "married"? I know you can withold at different rates etc and he has 9 exemptions? I know he has wealthy parents who have just retired etc. They bought a "vacation" condo and live there. I have known this man for 5 yrs and seen him off and on for that time. However, I question if he is married or not? I have not met any of his family yet and prob. never will. I get the feeling this is a "tax loophole" deal but how does one really get married and not live like they are? There was no evidence of another person living in his house. He has a three yr old son. This childs mother decided not to marry him so he told me. Anyone have ideas?

Hi there,
I have honestly never heard of someone benefiting from filing married with his employer if he wasn't. The tax "benefit"
There are lots of sights out there you can check on someone. Information I have heard on another board include that some counties have websites you can search public records, and ussearch.com (I am told) has a place you can do background searches on a potential bf/gf, and also a google search on someone's name will bring up information about them that might be helpful.
Here a couple other sites to try: DatingChecks.com or PublicData.com I am told the second site has a way to look up someone's drivers license and see if they are listed as married.
Also I hear you have to put quote around someones first and last name when you search on google.
