Good thread!
I wrote about this one on my blog too.
I can't believe that they found him NOT guilty.
He has been accused before and PAID the accusers off. This case became about the mother of that child and not about the actual act of child molestation. So yesterday, the "system" told MJ that it was OK for him to sexually abuse children.
The thing is, it is up to the parents of these children to say no, but you know what? They won't because of WHO MJ is. They will let their kids go because they want to be "friends" with a star.
The system is messed up if people like OJ, Robert Blake and MJ can get away with what was justifiably proven.
ick.....
I heard one of the commentators (Shapiro?) saying yesterday that it wasn't that the defense won, but that the prosecution didn't prove its case. A juror even said they weren't convinced MJ was innocent of child molestation in general, just that they weren't convinced he had done it in this particular case. They found the boy & the mother not to be credible witnesses. The mother's history of trying to make a quick buck made it seem plausible this might be a scam to take advantage of MJ's history and get rich. If I were on the jury, even though my gut would be telling me MJ was all sorts of wrong in general, I wouldn't be able to convict him if I found the two star witnesses to be unconvincing.

I just think it's crazy. It's all about money. If your rich you can get by with murder, just ask OJ. It can't be a race isssue, i've heard a few people say that, cause look at Robert Blake. Any person who would let their child go to his RANCH should be put under the jail with him. This world is crazy makes me wonder sometimes if we should try to bring a baby into this world the way it is.
MONEY the root of a EVIL
I don't think it's just about money - just ask Martha Stewart. I have to wonder if sometimes prosecutors may go ahead with a celebrity case when the case isn't as solid as it should be, while the jury on a celebrity case may be more inclined to follow the letter of the law because they know the world is watching them.
I do agree - even though he's been acquitted both times, I think a parent who would allow their child alone with MJ needs his/her head examined.
