Mourning the Divorce?

I've heard people talk about the mourning process of divorce. Can anyone say more about it? I am curious. B/c everyone says divorce is SO HARD. I'm wondering about how much one has to feel bad about it. And why does it take so long to do it, once a decision is made?

ie - My friend says things have been HORRIBLE for about 6 years in her marriage. She thinks she really went thru the mourning about 3 years ago, in counseling. She sorta decided at that time that she was ok with the decision. However, it's taken another 3 years - like til now, to actually go thru with it. She thinks she's "over it" now & ready to go on her way - while her soontobeex is just now mourning it. I'm curious about it, but feel I can not ask.

I agree.......it depends on the people and the situation.

When I got divorced from my 1st DH, since we were parents, we had to go to a program that everyone who has kids has to go to before they get divorced.
