Well, we sold our marital home, but I still "redecorated" my new room... and I didn't use ANYTHING that EX would have whined about until "our room" was the way HE wanted it :-)
8 years later... I just sold that house and moved to a new house... and "redecorated" again.
I have to ponder this more, but I think there is definitely some connection between the emotional feeling of what's going on in the home and wanting to keep it up.
It does... and the thing is... if we do the little things to make our surroundings more like we truly want them, it helps everything else to be less chaotic.... like coming home to a place that you really enjoy and feel good.
Yeah, it takes MORE effort sometimes to pull stuff like that off to start with, but for me it's always been worth it.

Okay I have one for you, keep in mind I am a Christian, however I don't believe in organized religion, it pits too many people against one another.
Rachel
Rachel,
That is *so* great!
My kids have recently mentioned--we've been divorced for EIGHT YEARS--how much they appreciate having a clean, mostly uncluttered home.
