Need advice about STBX & potential job

Before my husband left me, I had applied for the same position he is in. He actually suggested it. It's good money and great benefits. There's an extensive background check for this job which includes checking up on family & friends. When he first left and shortly after, he said that he would not "bad-mouth" me or say anything to prevent me from getting this position. I wanted to stay civil with him because of this and because if I do get this position, we may one day have to work with each other. After yesterday's incident, I'm questioning if he would say anything damaging. When I first applied I didn't really care about getting it. But with my situation now, it's a very good opportunity for me - good money, good benefits, a schedule that I can switch around if I needed to especially if my daughter had something going on. I've really geared myself up to getting it. But now I'm rethinking whether I should just because how he was yesterday. If we were to work together or even see each other, it might become very ackward. I think that we can keep it all business-like during work hours. I guess I just would like feedback. What would you do if you were in my shoes? Should I continue to pursue this job?

Hmmmm....good money, good benefits, and a flexible schedule? Sounds like a slam-dunk to me....ASIDE from the possibility of having to possibly work with your STBX. Would you have to work very closely with him, or very frequently? My ex and I don't get along incredibly well, but if I had the chance to make a significant amount more money, I'd consider dealing with him at wor occasionally.

I would tell your STBX straight up that you are very prepared to suck it up and be professional if you get this position because....... it will be good for BOTH of you if you have a good job.... and if this is a good option for you.... at least until something better comes along.... why not give it a try?
