There is no way I would agree to that. I agree, 2 weeks is too long.
We're working towards a "traditional" visitation schedule (at least I think we are)...Wed. evenings and every other weekend.
I do have a friend who has shared custody, but their child is just going on 3--so no school schedule involved yet. Dad has the child Sun. - Wed., Mom has the child Wed. through Sun. It's working for now, but even she comments how hard Sun. - Wed. is for her and how much she misses the child.
can he provide any backup documentation that supports his 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off theory? that is crazy and your son would be miserable. I would do a 3-4-4-3 schedule. my husband's friend does a wed-sat schedule so each parent gets one weekend night "off".
...I disagree completely...neither parent should have to be put in the position of "visitor" if both parents are set up to parent...every other sounds good to me...I wish that I lived close enough that my ex husband and I could do that...my boys are 7 and almost 13 and I think that they would benefit greatly being able to live with us both...
Hi nascarfan, thanks for your posting. Suport is not an issue as I have much more money than he does so neither of us are asking for any sort of support.
I wish there was an easy answer to all of this. I'm sure some 'experts' say that a 50/50 split is better for a child and others would say exactly what you said that a child needs more stability.

Thank you so much nalamia!!
I am a divorce lawyer and I haven't seen one case where the custody was split 2 weeks at a time so I don't know where he gets his ideas.
