I cannot BELEIVE how freaking BAD my luck is.

Im working tonite, 7pm - 7am. I have Ave's freind Sammy for the weeknd, her parents are away & i am very good freinds with Sammys mom. We switch kids often for sitting purposes. The sitter i had scheduled for the girls, to come to my house, cancelled a couple days ago, so Sammys mom, my freind Alice, booked her 17 yr ld sitter, who Avereys knows & loves, to watch the girls at Alices house & I would go get the girls after work in the AM.

Well, I am at work now. at 9:45 pm

Does Alice have a neighbor that you can call to verify the exact situation.... or can you call the sitter's parents to see if they can follow up to be sure that their child isn't doing anything that will get her in BIG trouble?

My gut is telling me that you need to go there yourself to see what's left of what was happening.

Of course Averey is stressed and I'm sure that waking up to unfamiliar people (even if it was 2 or 3) in an unfamiliar place was unsettling.

Karen - no, i dont know any neighbors i could have called. & there was/is NO way i could leave from work. (i just finished my delivery, & have another labor pt on their way in). I feel ok about it all b/c i know Sammys big sister Ava VERY well & shes a really good kid. This is her best freind & i dont beleive Alice would leave the girls with someone who isnt repsonsible. Now that i have calmed down a BIT ... i way more beleive from the sitter it was 2 girls & a boy visiting - & i KNOW how STBX blows EVEYTHING WAY out of proportion - & he was saying how many kids were there & they were drinking - w/o even SEEING them. But i do still take what the sitter says as well, with a grain of salt.

& i coudlnt say he cant go get her b/c we have 1st right of refusal in our orders. Legally, he had the option.

Thanks for your support - will let you know how tomorrow goes, R~

Funny how these guys can dictate what happens when they are not around. You had to work and he could have taken her, but he wasn't around and you NEED to work to provide for your child. My ex is supposed to have the kids on my work days. I refuse to have them on those days and then NOT have them when I'm off and I'm sure as heck not paying a sitter when I already have to pay for just about everything else.

It seems to me that if your daughter was under your care (your visitation time), that your ex violated visitation by taking her from the sitter. This is most damaging because if you need to get her used to babysitters due to work, he just undermined your authority and, perhaps, kidnapped your daughter without your consent.

I would consult your lawyer because this may set a precedent for what your ex will do in the future. If the situation was so bad, he would have called the police and filled out a report, but my guess is that he is just being dramatic and trying to control your behavior.
