I realize I need to ask my attorney this question, unfortunately, he never returns calls...Ugh! Anyways, thought i'd ask here. My X and I signed a new visitation agreement for long distance visitation. He has a GF that lives on the other side of the country and he had planned to relocate there. We came up with a schedule and agreeded upon it...drew up our own paperwork signed in and had it notarized. He gave it to his attorney who in turn sent it to my attorney (this was well over a month ago). My attorney STILL has not signed it not filed anything. In the meantime, my ex and his GF are are having serious issues. He has partially moved his things out there but still has a rental house here and comes back here only to see my son once a month. Long story short...I also have long distance BF and am planning on moving in the next two months to be with him. I have a job offer aleady and a house lined up. If my ex decides to not move...can he go back on his word?
I think I already know the answer to this, but wanted other opinions please! I mean, we have a signed written agreement that was notarized...it only hasn't been filed with the courts because my dang attorney is dragging his feet. Can someone offer me their opinon?
Thank you

Get a new attorney.
Until the agreement is entered by a judge or magistrate, it is not legally binding.
Your attorney sucks, get rid of him - the other poster had very good advice about how to find one.
Your X provides an excellant cautionary tale - you would be wise to heed his failing-at-life example regarding a new boyfriend.
Well, I agree my attorney sucks!
