I FINALLY went to the courthouse today! Yay! My Pauper's Petition was granted, so I don't have to pay fees. My attorney has set a tentative date for my divorce to be finalized on 2/1. I'm cautiously excited because she's blown me off before, but man oh man will I be happy if it's over then. It will have been 13 months of this dragging on.

Melanie,

I am happy for you; you seem so relieved hon! Though it might sound obvious, lol, would you explain to us what exactly a "Paupers Petition" is (and what state you are in if you don't mind.) Sounds like a resource some others might find useful too.

I bet it has been frustrating working with a lawyer that is an acquaintance/friend. You don't want to 'bug' them since they are charging little/or nothing; yet getting THROUGH this and having some closure at least on the legal part is paramount!

Peace, Annah

Congratulations on your news... one more step in the right direction...

Keep us posted and let us know how the finalization goes... I was very excited to have mine all over with... my xh on the other hand said he was sad and needed a hug... I told him no, go hug your new gf... (you know the one you left me for...)

*hugs*
