Oh geez rlch, what a time for you. My husband, too suffers from a personality disorder (party alcohol induced). It must be very frustrating for you. My STBX as well denied the fact that I had to have him removed from the home by the police (thank goodness my kids are older and don't live here and didn't have to witness it). He has finally come around and stopped drinking, after hitting (I think) rock bottom, but I sure don't trust him. It's always somebody else's fault, that's how they explain their behaviour. I don't hang on to the fact that he will ever be "normal". I am just hoping and praying that he can cope with his life (still facing sentencing for fraud after a year and a half--sorry if I'm repeating myself if you already read my posts), and start to rebuild a relationship with our children. He basically shut them out for about 6 months. The children are the utmost priority for sure. I really hope you and Ave can find some peace in this. It just seems to be never ending for you. I get the "almost comical" thing too. I have experienced that before; sometimes I just shake my head and think " what the h*** are you thinking??" He makes no sense sometimes at all. Anyways, keep us all posted, and we are all here for you.
WOW Rebecca. And Pbthhht to him. Amazing. It seems as though the psych has his number though. Thank goodness for that. NOW if only that mediator you posted about, and the courts, find their way to listen to the psych. GL with that. You deal with a maddening situation on a routine basis. Thank goodness Avery has you!!
Can I ask, is he an active drinker, when he's not with Avery? I only ask, because I see so much of my H's behavior in your H. I'm trying to prepare myself for what is yet to come (I'm only just retained the attorney). And I'm beginning to think getting firm with H (as in not letting him drive the kids since he doesn't have a license) is the way to go. I just love my kids too much to let someone as careless as my H take them away from me.

impulsivity or failure to plan ahead
irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults
reckless disregard for safety of self or others
