We both had to sign a copy of one, not the same one, but they court needed one with each of our signatures on it. I think it's okay that you didn't get to ask her today. It will make more sense when you have it in front of her. I would read through it on your own, then call her to go over it with you. That's what she's getting paid the big bucks for!

Well for me the petition for divorce was the paper that my ex handed me kicking me out of my house and taking my children. It is the begining paper. It lets the court know you want a divorce and kind of sets some terms. It was signed by my ex and his lawyer only. I and my lawyer just had to file and entry of appearance saying we understand the petition for diovrce.
I wish you the best. Hugs, Brenda

The petition for divorce states that he got the marital residence and I had 24 hours to leave or the police would remove me. It also stated the temporary custody arrangement which was that I only got to see my boys every other weekend. The order is actually in a section of the petition labeled Motion for Ex Parte Interlocutory Orders. "The Respondent should be ordered, to leave the marital residence of the parties within 24 hours after receiving an order from this court and be given reasonable time in a reasonable manner to remove her clothing and toiltry articles from the premises" Thank God my sister still lived here at the time. I lived with her for 3 months until she moved. By the end of that time period the divorce had progressed enough that I got my house back. Now that the divorce is final I have my boys everyother week. So far it seems to be working out well. I wish they were with me full time. I miss them so much. I take care of them in the evenings after work when it's not my week so I get to see them almost everyday.
I don't know why what he did is allowed. He never even told me he was unhappy in 15years of marriage. I am still pretty much in a state of shock and it's all over. I don't see how I can be divorced when I don't want to be. He states he just doesn't love me anymore. There is no other woman. He just hates me. I wish I knew what I did to deserve his hatred. I guess i should be grateful that he divorced me before he cheated on me. If he came to me tomorrow and asked to come home I would let him.
