Possible child support changes...

Okay, I've been flipping out over money for a while now, especially since I've been reduced to on-call and have yet to hear from my so-called employer.
Back when we made the child support order, I was employed full-time, making much more than I was at this current job, AND ex was watching my not school age daughter (at the time) during the day as well as my son from after school until I got off work. He DID have them a lot when I worked.
But since the summer he's only had them on his weekends. Starting about two weeks ago he also began picking them up from school on Tuesdays and watching them while I go to a night class.
It finally hit me that this may very well be enough of a change that I can justly get more than the $250 total I've been getting for this whole last year.
Plus, I went to the Dept of Human Services on Friday and made an appointment to try to get food stamps. I really am having self esteem issues with having done it, but I can get about $400 a month, which would help me out greatly in not having to pay out for food.
Can anyone give me any input on the cs issue? Have any of you successfully had an order changed?

Check with your attorney or the court clerk to see what the timeline is from when the initial order was put into place

It's been a full year now, and there have definitely been significant changes in my income at least.
I'll look into it and see what mayhem I can stir up. :-)
