Reasonable Visitation Schedule

Could anyone give me some advice on what a reasonable visitation schedule is? My ex and I live about 350 miles apart and we have a child that isn't school age yet.
I'd like to hear any experience you have had with this distance and age factors. Thank you.

Yowza!.... I think that much of that would have to do with your work schedules and how flexible you can be to work around that and child care.
Of course, as much time as you both can share would be wonderful.... but "reasonable" would depend on how much you can both arrange to maximize.
I hope that helps.

Hi Phil,
My X used to live about that far away from me when we split too. What we did, or I should say 'proposed' (since he didn't stick to his end of the bargain) was that once a month, we would drive 1/2 way which for us was a 2.5 hr one way drive, on a Friday afternoon, and again on a sunday afternoon. My daughter was 2.5 at the time, and although it was a long drive, it was worth it for her. Another thing was he would come down to a family's home that was relatively closer and spend the weekend there with my DD. during the summer, she went with him for an entire month, WHICH I DO NOT recommend since my DD came home a total emotional basket case, hense the reason for this year long court battle on visitations. Usually it's no more than 10-14days with the other parent who is not the primary care giver at one time.
You don't say how old your child is so I guess you would have to modify it from there.
Also, what about taking turns driving up to each others town and then spending the weekend at a hotel while the other takes DD for the weekend. For you when you have to drive, you can look at it as a free weekend to pamper yourself while X gets to visit?
Just some thoughts...hope they help.
