PLEASE tell me you are getting child support and a SH!T ton of alimony!!!!!!!
I know that it my state if you are a SAHM and were financially dependent upon your STBX (well, if either spouse was dependent upon the other one) then that's all you need for alimony. The STBX must give you enough money to allow you to sustain your standard of living. But, I know in some places you have to prove fault, etc and that can be really hard to do. GGRrrrr.... it just burns me up to see situations like this. One parent is taking care of the kids, doing the *real* parenting while the other is just a 'disneyland parent'. Don't worry though, when your kids get older they will really appreciate how hard you worked and they'll start asking daddy some questions about why mommy has to work so hard and does not have any money if he has tons of money that he could give her? They'll see how hard you've worked and you are setting an amazing example for them. They have a great gift in you for their mother!
My standard of living dropped by 50%. We struggle and I could make more money if I took a job 45miles from home, but that would mean less time with my boys. I am willing to make the sacrifice for them, but it's also for me. God has provided us with all out needs and I am grateful. Hugs, Brenda
My standard of living has increased tremendously. CAHL made same money as I did but all of that went to his own private account. I also found he was taking 1/4 of what I made and putting it into an investment. I was paying ALL the bills, even for his drinking and bar visits. Then when he left he emptied out the investment account where 1/4 my paycheck went, and took his private account and ran.
So circumstances have only improved for me. My paying all the bills has not changed, though now I am not paying the 200 or so a month for his long distance calls, several hundred a month for his cellular calls, over 100 a month for alcohol, several hundred a month for his bar and night club visits, ....did I mention his desire to own expensive suits on my paycheck?... After considering that I have twice the money each month as before.
I honestly don't know about CAHL's new standard of living, but I will say that CAHL lost his very brief job as contractor (not surprising since CAHL is unqualified for that type of work), and is now either living with mama or very close to her. I would guess that CAHL's standard has drastically decreased though.
My ex's standard of living dropped dramatically (he doesn't have me bankrolling him anymore) and Mine slightly increased to stayed the same. My ex doesn't have a pot to piss in, no insurance of any kind (health, auto, life), no career, no 401K, nOTHING.
