Ring Question

This might be a dumb question - but when do I take off my wedding rings? It's probably premature as he hasn't even moved out yet but I can't help but wonder. Every time I look down at my left hand, I see my wedding ring, engagement ring, and anniversary band (we were married 16 yrs) and it's just a constant reminder of what I'm going through. On the other hand, I'm not divorced or even separated yet so it seems way too early!
Any thoughts?

It has been interesting to hear everyone's tales of when they removed their rings. I think I've decided to wait until something legal happens. Like I serve him papers or he moves out! Hopefully the papers will be ready next week and he will move out by the end of the month :)
By the way - my daughter says she's not worried about all this because she's going to get a puppy. Don't remember promising that but she thinks I did! Anyone know where I can get a pug cheap?? She's really crazy about pugs.
Hahaha! It's funny the things kids come up with. But, seriously, it's the one time when I was willing to do just about anything to give the kids some happiness and comfort, so I'd have been out looking for a dog too. :-)
Good luck, and don't worry too much about the ring. You'll know when the time is right. As far as a cheap pug, the only places I can think of are classified in your local newspaper, Craigslist, or the local animal shelter. Although I doubt many people are dropping off pugs there, but you never know!
There might be a pug rescue league.
After reading this string I realized I still have my wedding ring from my first marriage.
I should do something symbolic with it on February 1st which is TWENTY YEARS since I left
the SOB.
I would throw it in the Hudson but I'd hate to kill some fish who might eat it. My life was almost ruined by it, no need to continue the carnage. :O)
I have to do something with it, definitely.

I'm late in responding and haven't even looked at the other responses yet, but the right time is when it feels right to you... my xh took his off way earlier than I thought he should have, but it was totally his choice... and I kept mine on for way longer than I should have--my choice and I was still clinging to the hope that I saw in the rings... so do what feels right for you, even if that means taking them off and putting them back in the ring box for safe keeping!
