in a while! Lurkers, please come out of hiding, too. Anything you want to share...age, location, kids (if any) and how far you are along in the divorce process.

Welcome, Sam :) ,

No, it doesn't necessarily mean it will get messy...it isn't fun either way, but often times the aid of attorneys help the situation and help things get resolved quicker than wihtout their having knowledge and expertise.

It's nice to ahve someone providng the facts as regarded by law. I know that without attorneys, my divorce will be a mess. My stbx has the incapability of recognizing he ever does anything wrong, or maybe doens't know everything. There will be more than one time that I am sure his lawer will have to advise him during this, and it will much easier if he has that knowledge to go off of rather than just emotion.

Good luck, hope to see you around. There will be tough times, and easier times ahead, but all will be learning experiences, and we will come out further ahead in the end.
Of course, it won't come without a lot of tears, too.

Thank you,

Colorado is wonderful and I would never leave. D day is closer and I get more depressed, but I know I am doing the right thing. I am especially glad that I am not alone and that there many women/men who have been thru the same thing and have felt the same emotions. 14 years is long time to be married. anyways..thank you again for the welcome

Even when you know you're doing the "right thing".... you can still feel emotional and sad about it..... heck, I'm sure that you'll even have moments when you feel excited and happy, but it's all part of it.

Hey... I had dinner at that infamous place you mentioned last night... and as the grits were placed on the table, I immediately thought, "I wonder how cattywampuss is doing?"

So.... how are ya?

Wisdomtooth here. Newly relocated back in Michigan.

Divorced (hmmm, let's see, I have to think now), 9 years in August. (Gosh, has it been that long?)
Remarried since 1999. Wonderful second marriage to a wonderful man. :)
No kids (now or then).
Have my own insurance business and just bought our dream home.
