Ok, my husband moved out about 3 months ago. He never really took anything of his, except some clothing. We both just filed for divorce, so we won't be to court for like 3-4 weeks. I know he's allowed to take the things of his he had before our marriage, which he has taken a few things. He is now asking for his desk he uses for work and his chair he used for work(we accumulated these things during our marriage). Honestly, they are his, I never use his desk and I dont want it. Do you think its ok to give it to him?

Consider yourself lucky that that's all he wants. You could be "made" to split everything equally.

As usual, I agree with Karen. She's a very wise lady, you know :) I think it's great if you can both act like rational, reasonable adults and come to a civil agreement on as much as possible. It will certainly make things easier in the long run. My main advice to give regarding any aspect of separation is document, document, document. You don't want any uncertainty down the road.

Good Luck,
Trudy

Thanks for the sweet complement
