I posted a question about my son turning 12 in Aug and the CS adjustment. My Ex has been VERY reluctant to show his new pay stubs, saying he makes significantly less money now. Well, he finally gave me a copy of his current pay stub and (drum rolls please...) well, with simple calculation, he makes $900 lesss a year than his previous job. Mind you, this guy makes 6 figures, so, I would say it's VERY significant, LOL. He's also reluctant to show the amount he's paying for kids' medical through his new job. He previously claimed that the benefits at his new job are really awful and he's paying much more for kids' medical. Now, that is the amount that should be deducted from his CS obligation. I don't know why he doesn't want to show the proof to me.
I briefly talked to my atty/friend on the phone and gave him the numbers. He quickly calculated and it turned out to be $500/month more than the current amount, although kids' medical insurance has to be deducted from this. He also confirmed that none of our assets (house, car, etc.) counts toward determining the CS amount.
I really hate to go through this. I know Ex will fight, although I don't know how. He hired a really aggressive lawyer when we divorced and his atty pretty much asked for the moon. I hope he won't do the same this time, as the CS calculation should be cut and dried.
