Starting a new tradition

My birthday is this month. I have not gotten a gift in the ten years I have been married. My family has a dinner for me but stbx just treated it as another day. This year I decided to start a new tradition. I went out and bought myself something I have asked for the past five years for every birthday, anniversary and christmas (He never bought me a gift on any of those dates even though I made it special for him). I found Kitchen Aid stand mixers on sale for $100 off. I used some gift cards I had gotten for Christmas and only had to pay $100 or a $399 mixer. I am so excited. I wrapped it up with cute paper and bows. I even got a card and wrote myself a nice message. I am determined not to open it until my birthday. It gives me something to look forward to.

I have decided to send myself flowers for Valentines day. I am thinking about a dozen roses. I have not gotten roses since we were dating yrs ago.

I have decided to love myself and show myself how I feel. I am not going to depend on anyone else anymore.

Good for you... I always make sure that Joey gets me something nice for my birthday... sometimes he knows about it and sometimes it is a complete surprise...

You did well!!!

Presents to ourselves are a must.

I've started giving myself small jewelry presents. For such long time all I got was only practical, even my family gave me "useful" stuff. Only a man in your life usually think about pleasure enough so that he gets you "pleasure presents"...

SO, considering that I don't have anymore to budget in presents for a significant other, :) I made myself the significant other. I buy myself a formal present for Xmas, for B-day... and if I have the cash, also in between!!!

I was just going to post a topic on st.valentine' single with kids plans... :)

I have a long standing tradition of buying "presents for self". I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine! I must add that a KA standmixer was one of my presents to self last year as well. I looove my mixer! And now that you mention it... i deserve flowers on Valentines' day as well ;)
