I hope I don't sound demented, LOL, but there is some sick side of me, totally gratifying, that STBX has to WRITE me a check for two weeks of child support/alimony TODAY! So, hopefully by Friday, I'll have some money. Though the majority of it has to go to pay 9/1 mortgage, it's coming from HIM non-the-less, and he's ALL ABOUT MONEY so I know it's going to kill him to write that check.

Gee, I wonder if I'll get the same memo on the check as OW did? "Many GF :)" LOL, probably not huh? LOL

Sorry, had to share.
Hugs to all!

Hi Jenn-

Are you getting the check in person or in the mail? When I got my back alimony check from my ex he handed it to me in person. I didn't even look at it. When he resumed his regular payments, he starting writing "BLOOD MONEY" in the memo section. My DD (16) saw the first check. She called him to ask him what "BLOOD MONEY" meant. He was furious! That is when he told her I am a "blood sucking, money-hungry (B)itch".

I am just wondering if "BLOOD MONEY" is considered taxable income?

Maybe you can send him a reciept for the check and write "Many GF :)" in the memo line to him? What is it with men that they think that supporting their children is optional? My stbx whined that "40% of my income goes to child support". Hello????? I called him and told him that he must be very relieved to only spend 40% of his income on his children. 100% of MY income is used to support our children.

My ex had the nerve to write me a check to me with my first name, and my boyfriend's last name... we had only been dating about 3 months. Anyways, I went to his bank, explained the situation, showed ID, and the account was ISF anyways... from then on, I've had his pay attached.

I completely agree. I see this so often, the parent who pays cs feels like it's soooo much money, while the custodial parent is constantly shelling it out. 100% of my income really does go to raising my kids. If it wasn't for my children I could easily live in a tiny apartment, not a three bedroom house with a large yard, I'd eat cereal for dinner, and I wouldnt' bother with cable tv, etc. etc.
