Stopping in to say hi!

Just thought I'd stop in for an update since I've been MIA recently due to very limited internet access. The good news is that I've had limited access because I was having some work done on my house. The house feels so much better with the updates that have been made, but my bank is crying from shelling out money for new a/c, plumbing, and electrical. :-P

The work was supposed to take place during the last week of August and only take about a week. Instead it took place near the end of July and took exactly 3 weeks. I am so grateful for the guy who was scheduled ahead of me, but who cancelled. If we had used my original dates, this would have run through the first two weeks of the new school year and that would have been interesting to say the least.

I'm now going to begin the process of finding a new job. I am trying to find something that is about 30 hours a week, so it will leave me with a little time for the kids on weekdays.

The process of my divorce is finished, and I'm just waiting for word that it's final. My STBX and I talk as little as possible at this point, which is for the best. The only annoying thing he does is let his GF handle talking to me even about the kids if she is present when I drop them off. Whatever though. I'm doing better at focusing more on my and the kids' lives than his behavior.

A funny thing that is happening is that I've been talking about once a week with his mother. We have hour+ long chats about house stuff, the kids, etc. She even offered to help me with some gardening, but I won't take her up on it. I AM going to invite her over once my house is put back together and my landscaping is started so she can see what I've done with the place.

Well, I'm off to play mini-golf with a good friend (a man!) and my daughter, but I'll see you all later. Have a great weekend!

Thanks, Julie!

I am doing pretty well, but still need to get a better grip on handling all of my responsibilities. I find I am not the best of jugglers. Darn balls keep dropping!

Why...whatever do you mean, Christine? :-P

The man is someone I have known for a few years now, and started out as a strictly platonic friendship. It's more than that now though. The kids get along with him well, and were able to form that opinion of him before being informed of our seeing each other. He's good with the kids and has been able to form a friendship with them both, partially in helping my 5 year old daughter learn to play baseball, and my 11 year old son do some computer programming.

He's a good guy and I'm glad he gets along well with the kiddos. :)

Also, mini-golf was fun. We played both courses and I kicked his butt in both games. My daughter had a very hard time holding the club, but he finally got her to do it right when he told her to first hold it like a sword and then bring it down to the ground. Hilarious, but it worked. I forgot that she, her brother, and David (the man) had been playing with toy swords at home and so he knew she could hold it that specific way.
