Surviving HIS mid-life Crises

Has anyone successfully survived the roller coaster of your husband's mid-life crises? My husband is 42 and has been in this crises for a little over a year. It's so classic, with the exception of a young mistress and new sports car. He claims to have been unhappy in our marriage for a long time, blames all of his unhappiness on me, can't remember why he fell in love with me and so on and so on. The roller coaster of his emotions is finally wearing on me. Everything I read says to be supportive and patient. We have 2 young children and are on the fence about separating. I want to work on our marriage, he doesn't know if he wants to. Will I ever get him back??? How long do I wait before I reclaim my life??? Advice from those who have been there will be so appreciated.

Where do you go to read up on this?
I ask because my DH turned 39 yesterday and recently had to close his business. Those two things have him in a depressive mid-life tail spin. He's going to a counselor, but his depression is really starting to freak me out. I had a crazy nightmare last night and wake up SOBBING and couldn't stop.
Sorry I don't have any advice for you, but maybe you have some for me. ;)
