therapist recomended visitation clause

Today at therapy I was talking about how hard it is to have dd crying not wanting to go with daddy and having to pry her off me. My therapist recommends that I put a clause in my divorce papers that says "only if child wants to go". He said me making her go will lead to her acting out towards me. I am going to talk to my lawyer about it.

I tried to have this clause added to my legal separation papers. No luck, his lawyer had it removed. My DD was 11 years old at the time and was refusing to go visit STBX. He threatened to have a deputy come w/ him. Lawyer implied that I was making DD not want to go.... Nothing could be farther from the truth.... I was trying my best to encourage her to go. No matter what he has done, I refuse to tear him down to our DD. I couldn't bear to think of a deputy coming to force her to go. Now, as we move towards the divorce, she's 12 and in our state, a judge will ask her for her thoughts and take it in to consideration. Thankfully, we have no "set" visitation since STBX is a long distance trucker. The stipulation right now is that he must give us 48 hours notice.

I think that counseling for the kids is a better option that trying to get an "only if she wants to go" clause.
