timing of selling the house?

I'm sure that some of you have seen my long novel length posts on here before...and I really appreciate all of the feedback that I've received so far!
I'm wondering when folks generally sell the house during a separation/divorce?

I live in TN, so its a little different here. I guess unless you intend to stay in the house for a while it doesn't really matter when you sell. Seems like it would be easier to go on and do it now, though, for a couple of reasons: most people start looking to buy about this time of year and if you wait until later you might have less interest from buyers. The other reason would be to go ahead and try to get the max dollar amount and split the equity 50/50, whereas after the divorce (depending on what you and your husband agree to) it might have to be sold under court order at a less-than-fair market price.
Good luck to you...sorry you are lonely. I think that everyone going through this experiences extreme loneliness from time to time, but I hope that it passes for you and you can find happiness in your new life.
Yonder,
Hi. Here's my advice and suggestions. Please use what you can and take action to get additional information as you need.
First of all its never a good idea to make decisions based on the heat of the moment. Your STBX wants to "get it over with." Well, I've got news for him, even if you sold the house tomorrow, he's going to have to wait another 6 months to even file. THEN, it might be another 6 months (more or less) until a divorce is final. Plus, you don't know how long it will take to sell your home.
