Told the kids today

We told the kids today. I plan on moving out on Saturday. I finally decided it was time. My dad is letting me move in with him until I find a place to go. They took it really good. We tried to make it a good thing. Fouced on all the positives. DD cried for a few minutes and then was fine. DS was so excited about living with my dad. So for now everyone is pretty happy about the situation. I never thought it would go this good. We went to dad's and they picked out a room. Then they talked about how they will get to watch the good cartons since he had cable. The things they fouced on made me laugh. My advice to anyone else having to tell their kids if to focus on the good things about having two houses. It worked really good. My dd's friend across the street took it harder than my kids. I am going to try and take little loads this week so I don't have a much to move this weekend.

I am so glad it went so well. I agree with you about focusing on the positives. I had major anxiety about telling DD and she was just fine with it. Good luck on your move.

Phew! I am glad you have gotten that out of the way. I am sure that your shoulders are a wee bit lighter. Can you remind me as to how old your children are? I am still agonizing over this same issues with my DD's (5&3). I am sure your children will have their high moments and their low ones too. Keep posting and let us know how all of you are doing.

Best of luck to you. How old are your kids? I remember telling mine and it broke my heart. I am glad that things seem to be going ok. Kids handle things in their own way and you may find that they express their feelings and let it out at different times. It is hard to tell them, I remeber the feeling. Best of luck to you. Hang in there!

I'm glad that it went well.... not to say that there won't be rough patches, but you're definitely off to a good start.

On sort of an unrelated/related note... my mom has a friend who's husband is in the hospital sick with something they're unsure about (they thought it was pneumonia, but it's not).

I'm glad that it went better than you expected. Don't be surprised if there is a bit of a rollar coaster for them too, but enjoy the good times and do what you have to do to get through the rougher ones. Good Luck with your move!
