I just got divorced this past November,I'm getting Antsy,My ex had been cheating on me while I was Home taking care of kids working etc.Now I see him and he is just going on with his life like "we" never exsited,He still is going out with every Liz, Melody and Desiree.I want some fun too.But How does someone like me who is 45 with two kids 19&17 do it?where do I go?I don't go to bars,No church and afraid of parents without partners, where any scum of the earth guy goes to PICK UP.Should I even be thinking about this at all?

Hi, and welcome! I don't think it's unreasonable for you to be interested in companionship. I will say it is definitely more challenging to meet people as we get older and have left school and are more established in our jobs. It certainly means taking risks.

You mentioned problems with Parents without Partners. Have you heard any specific problems with the chapter in your area? I live in CT, and I've heard nothing but glowing reviews about the one near me.

Aside from that, I know it's very hard to carve out time for yourself when you're working and raising teens. For me, going to the gym was a great help. Even though I only have a few casual conversations there occasionally, it feels good to be around other people.

I'm sure others will post their ideas also.
