Ollie

I really feel for you and wish you the best. My situation is in some ways similar (but with a child involved).

Seriously, you might not like my responce but I think you may already have the answer in your post. The cost of legal help - would help get you what in the end??? Any money you get back (and he would argue it was a gift etc etc) may well be eaten up in legal fees. Can you live with that result??

I think of all the money I spent fighting just to get a parenting arrangement and any form of financial settlement . If your ex is anything like mine he doesnt think he has done anything wrong, not then - not now.

I too lost my house after selling up to buy a house (he didnt put any money in) with him, only to have him walk out to be with another woman 10 weeks later . It is now over two years and I am only financially now getting on my feet.

Think about where you want to be in 1 months time, 1 year and go for it.
If you get the money back of not, one thing for sure he can't take advantage of you any more.

And that is a better place to be.

That is kind of what I thought anyway.

It seems to me that maybe if you hired a lawyer they could sue him to force a sale of his home to make the money he needs to repay you?

Hello sweetfreedom08,

According to my divorce attorney in the state of Florida if the home was purchased before the marriage and my name was not put into the deed it is considered a premarital asset.
