Ugh! Water Shut off notice

STBX is still living at home and divorce couldn't come soon enough. He is court ordered to pay the mortgage and utilities, along with some spousal support. He does not open his mail. So.... he got a delinquent notice for a shut off date of 7/26, tomorrow! He just got back from a business trip and asked me why he hasn't seen a bill before this. DUH! Because you didn't open your mail. I ended up opening this past bill and noticed it. In the past he wanted me to open his mail, but since the divorce filing, I didn't want to do anything to get myself in trouble.

So... I called my attorney about a few other matters. Explained to my attorney about the water shut off notice and my attorney reams me out about why I didn't just give it to him or open it since I did it in the past. So... I explained to him that it's in STBX name and I didn't want to open mail not addressed to me. Ugh!!! Not good feeling. I am trying to separate and get a divorce. Even tho we are living in same household until then. My attorney told me to continue doing what I have done before filing for divorce. I am not sure why is that, but ugh! I am trying to work part time, find a full time job, taking care of the house 100%, and taking care of a 8 yo child. I do the grocery, meals, take trash out, lawn work, etc, while STBX sits on his butt when he comes home from work and plays on computer or ninetendo.

Well I guess after this experience, you will continue to open the bills.

If nothing else, think of it as a source of information. Something that comes through might be useful!!

You see... and the problem I have with that is.... he's an adult... he should take responsibility and do what he's supposed to do.

Case and point... a male person who is on a committee with me at DD's school only showed up for 2 meetings the entire year last year.
