why is it that I am the one who stayed to look after the kids, that I am persona non grata?

the kids are home for the holidays..their babysitter is on holidays so I took a couple of days off...ex is off work from 23rd to 9th ..but can't take them one day..
.
Well, on top of the "fun" stuff I have to keep food in the house and clean clothes right?
but daddy is more fun..all I have heard about is how they miss daddy...how wonderful daddy is...I don't say anything to them...but their "dad" couldn't even see them for one day on their holidays!! but I am boooorrrrinnnggg!

now he is saying "oh I could have taken them"

oldest dd asked dad to bring some photos over that he had developed..so I called him back said "you can take the kids for the rest of the week"...well he backpeddled so fast..then hung up on me..

he just likes to talk the talk...oh she is keeping my kids away from me..boo hoo...when push comes to shove he wont take them anyway!

sorry about the vent..he just makes my blood boil when it comes to the kids!

I checked some books out of our local library when my stbx and I first separated. Our DDs are 2 and 5, and I wanted some info on helping them through this. I read something really interesting: The behavior you describe is sometimes called the "Sunday-Night Syndrome." The kids whine and complain when they're with you (especially right after they've been with Dad) because they feel comfortable and secure with you. They know you love them and they can say and do things they might not feel comfortable saying and doing with him. And they idealize Fun Daddy, don't they?! I know; mine do it too. Vent away; it helps to get it out!
