I had one of those symbolic revelations the other day.

The very first thing I did when my ex moved out was redid my bedroom...completely! I painted, got new pillows, new linens, new towels, new blankets, etc. I totally changed the look of that room and made it mine--without the memories.

I highly suggest you do this when your (stbx)H moves out. Make that room your sanctuary. Somewhere nice, pretty and calming for you. Believe me--this does WONDERS for your mind!!!

My ex also left my house with a ton of 1/2 done projects. My dad came to town and worked his booty off for about 3 weeks getting things in order for me. Reminds me...I need him to come back for a visit! I have lots more for him to do.......

HUGE hugs

Deb

I always thought it would be great to be married to someone who could fix up the house, but I guess that after a full day of doing that for other people, he probably doesn't want to do it at home.

I think it's VERY common that we do just that... and even now, with me being "single".... I still find myself putting my kids first... and that's OK.... but it's importnat to remember that you need to "feed" yourself and do things for you from time to time as well.
