We made it back from NY

Yeah... I'm thrilled to say that we're back from NY... it was a nice trip, with some typical family stress... the drive up was ugly in the rain that was up the entire eastern seaboard on that Friday, but we managed to get all the way to PA in one day, which was nice because then we did a quick visit at Hershey, PA and then had a short drive to Long Island, getting there less than 5 hours after we left, complete with an hour wait getting into the Holland Tunnel.

The family stress comes from my Aunt, who I always had problems with--never can seem to do anything right with her--and Joey's the same way. I don't know if she said one nice thing about Joey the entire time we were up there... or even one nice thing TO Joey. We went to a WWII Museum and Joey was all excited, but she felt the need to scold him for being loud (because he was excited) and not staying right next to us (ditto)... even was really good, he wasn't good enough... But enough of that. We had a nice Christmas. It was me, Mom and Joey, my Aunt and Uncle, two cousins and a fiance. As we said good bye, my Aunt hugged me extra tight and said that she really was glad that we came... I just wish there could be a little less stress...

We left yesterday and were through the city in 45 minutes... we thought we were making wonderful time... until we made a wrong turn or two in Jersey... we took a nice scenic drive through Jersey heading to PA, getting to PA in just enough time for Joey to announce he had to go potty... so we got off at the next exit and briefly visited the Crayola factory store, while grabbing lunch and a bathroom break... We want to tour Crayola sometime, but yesterday, with our first set of delays in Jersey, just wasn't the day. From here we did really well and make it almost to Charlotte, NC by last night. Today, we had another short drive (that still seemed long) in from Charlotte, complete with windshield wiper issues (the blade kept flopping about)...

But the important thing is we are home, safe in one piece... Hope that you had a nice holiday and Happy New Year!

*hugs*

Glad you made it back... and that it sounds like Joey had a good time... despite the poo-poo aunt.

Now, make a stop at AutoZone (or some other auto parts place) and they'll install the new wiper blades for "free" with your purchase of new ones.

Glad you and Joey had a good time minus the cranky aunt. :-)

Have a happy New Year! I've got friends showing up any minute, but wanted to say welcome back. :-)

Yeah... that's actually how we wound up getting this one fixed... I'm used to that service when you purchase the blades too, but I guess that's not an option at the store we stopped at in NY... that being said, the guy here was wonderful and we got the address and his name to write the manager a glowing thank you note... I would not have been sane on the trip home without his help!
