My husband and I have been married for sixteen years and together for about twenty.

Definitely see a marriage counselor.

The only problem with that is I don't want to work at it anymore.

You sound just like my mother did before she and my father divorced. To her, the marriage was over long before it became apparent to Dad. She tried separation for three years, and then she went ahead and filed for divorce. I can tell you that the now-completed divorce has changed everything about her. Her career has taken off, she's always smiling and laughing, and she looks about 20 years younger. She's dating men 20 or 25 years her junior, and she's made great friends. She's also traveling for the first time.

You have to be true to yourself, first and foremost. Follow your heart.

Good luck to you.

If you are feeling indifferent and have fallen out of love, then I guess marriage counseling won't work.

I think I already know what I'm going to do and what I truly need to do (in my heart).
