What should I do with my rings?

What have you ladies done with your engagement and wedding rings after your divorce? I mean, it's not like I can wear them (even though they sure are purdy lol). I was thinking about selling them or something, or maybe making the diamonds into another piece of jewelry.
What did you do, if anything?

Astral, you crack me up.
My rings cost about $1,600 new. I'd like $800 if I can get it. A friend of a friend that used to work at a jewelry store told me the best way to sell something like that for less than $1,000 would be on ebay. Things ended badly and the marriage was difficult and filled with pain. I know even if I had them fashioned into something else that I would still think of what they represented once every time I looked at them.
Before listing them on ebay, I'd like to get an official appraisal. I emailed one of the local jewelry store and they wanted $150 for an appraisal. I thought that was high. Anyone know what the going rate for an official appraisal these days?
Engagement ring diamond had a chip in it after 20 years, so it's not worth anything to re-sell or it would have been sold by now. Really pissed off that 2nd wife's diamond is twice the size--all while he's whining poverty.
Wedding band--I FLUSHED it!!!!!!!!!! Did it immediately after a huge screaming match with ex and IT FELT MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happily typed with NEKKID FINGERS,

i asked my friend the same thing, and she suggested i get the stones reset into a cocktail ring.
i love my ring - i think it is beautiful, and the idea of being able to wear it in a different fashion is very appealing.
i would never hock it, so this seems to be a great idea.
